Cornea infection is in the eye of the beholder

- Me.

So I have been MIA for the past 2 months. Well not taking into account the last 2 half-assed posts, that is.

You may have heard of eye infections due to contact lenses but trust me, experiencing it is a whole new level. Ever felt like you were pressing a lemon into your eye? That's how it feels when you try to put on your contacts with an eye infection. The unfortunate thing is that by the time you realise that you should remove your lenses, it feels like you're trying to wax your eyeball. Which easily equates to pain of Mariah-Carey's-Ass-like proportion. The only thing more painful than having your left eye infected is well, having your right eye infected as well.

Or is it?

Ever wondered what it would feel like to have someone scrape out the infected part of your cornea so that new cells can regenerate? I had to entertain that thought for the past 3 nights in preparation for my very own ScrapeFest '05. Thankfully though, the ophthalmologist said that the infection was subsiding. Which meant that the scapel leaves her hand and goes back into the drawer. In place of that, I have to apply this whitish ointment in my eye for the next week - which blurs my vision for the following hour. Feels as if someone blew their nose into my eye.

Awesome.

I found it quite interesting..

... that Marco Sfogli (James Labrie's guitarist on his latest solo album, Elements of Persuasion) has a John Petrucci signature series.

Oh wow cool post. Give. Me. More.
